A press release sent by the Assembly of the Republic to the Sala da Paz reports that:
“The Standing Commission of the Assembly of the Republic (CPAR), meeting this morning in Maputo, at its XIII Extraordinary Session, decided to schedule, for the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of August, the IV Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the Republic to ratify the Declaration of the State of Emergency and to consider the Proposed Law on Disaster Risk Management and Reduction.”
“The Mozambican parliament will therefore convene tomorrow in plenary session to consider [and eventually vote] the presidential decree concerning the State of Emergency, as well as the draft law ratifying the declaration of the State of Emergency.
“The new State of Emergency enters into force this Saturday, August 8th, which is why the Assembly of the Republic must deliberate beforehand.
The 8th and 9th of this month are reserved for the Specialised Commissions of the Assembly of the Republic to consider the Proposed Law on Risk and Disaster Management and Reduction, an instrument that will be discussed [and eventually vote] in a plenary session on Monday, August 10th.”
