Mozambique: In Nampula province, 18% of girls marry before 15, 56% before 18 — UNICEF
The Ministry of Health (MISAU) announced today, July 17, another 19 confirmed cases of Covid-19, bringing the number of cases registered so far to 1,402.
Of the newly diagnosed cases, eight are from Nampula province, four from Maputo province and seven from Maputo city.
In the last 24 hours, 573 suspected cases have been tested in the country.
Meanwhile, 17 more recoveries were announced today, bringing the total to 397. We want to inform you that we registered seventeen (17) more cases fully recovered from COVID-19; ten (10) in Cabo Delgado Province, four (04) in Maputo Province and three (03) in Maputo City. These are individuals of Mozambican nationality who lived in isolation during their illness ”.
Mozambique currently has 994 active cases, distributed as follows: Niassa Province – 12; Cabo Delgado – 234; Nampula – 268; Zambezia – 23; Tete – 29; Manica – 17; Sofala – 20; Inhambane – 44; Gaza – 46; Maputo Province – 139 and Maputo City – 162.
Mozambique currently has a cumulative of 32 hospitalised individuals due to COVID-19. Of these, six are in hospital care. They suffer from various chronic pathologies, associated with COVID-19. “We recorded a hospital discharge for a patient who was hospitalised in Maputo Province who will continue with home isolation ”, informs MISAU.
Of the total cases registered to date in Mozambique, 1257 are locally transmitted and 145 are imported.
