Mozambique: Population finds remains of supposed attack victims in Cabo Delgado

Momad Assif Satar, known as Nini Satar, died in the cells of the Machava Special Maximum Security Penitentiary Establishment (BO), in Matola.
According to a press release from the National Penitentiary Service (SERNAP), at around 7:30 am this Friday, during the morning inspection of the cells carried out by officers of the Penitentiary Guard assigned to the aforementioned Establishment, Nini Satar was found sprawled on the floor, apparently without vital signs.
In view of the incident, SERNAP adds, the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) was notified and carried out inspections at the site, within the scope of its powers and prerogatives, and ascertained that he was dead.
Meanwhile, according to a source from SERNAP quoted by Notícias, Nini Satar “died after having seizures”.
Notícias adds that “it is known that the deceased had been suffering from after-effects of COVID-19, a disease that led to his hospitalization”.
However, the SERNAP source, cited by Notícias, only a complete autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
Nini Satar was being held in the Machava Maximum Security Special Penitentiary Establishment, as part of case number. 66/2020, O País reports.
