Mozambique: IMF research suggests reassessing tax incentives - A Verdade

The number of deaths from COVID-19 in Mozambique rose from 290 to 297 with seven more deaths reportedly the Ministry of Health (MISAU) this Saturday [January 23] .
The victims were Mozambican men aged between 47 and 87 .
Six deaths were declared yesterday and one today.
According to MISAU’s press release, in the last 24 hours 2. 791 test were performed in the country and a further 780 came back positive for COVID-19 , bringing the number of positive cases since the outbreak to 31,628.
“Of the new cases, 748 individuals have Mozambican nationality, six individuals are foreigners and 26 individuals are of nationalities yet to be determined.
412 are men or boys (52.8%) and 68 are girls or women (47.2%) , says MISAU.
The city of Maputo recorded 379 newly diagnosed cases, corresponding to 48.6% of the total new cases reported today across the country. It was followed by Maputo province with 179 new cases, corresponding to 22.9 %.
Also, in the last 24 hours, the country registered 28 new hospital admissions and 21 discharges.
Mozambique has a cumulative of 1,363 inpatients since the disease was first confirmed in the country, of which 228 are currently hospitalised (79.4% of these patients are hospitalised in Maputo city).
Meanwhile, according to MISAU, 144 Mozambican patients are free from the disease, which brings recoveries to 20,002.
Currently, the country has 11,325 active cases.
