Mozambique: 88 schools will remain closed in Cabo Delgado
The Ministry of Health this Tuesday reported a further 15 Covid-19 deaths. The victims, all Mozambican, were aged between five (5) and 87. Twelve were boys or men and three were girls or women. One of the deaths reported today was declared on Saturday (February 6), 13 were declared yesterday (February 8) and one was declared today, MISAU reports.
This brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Mozambique to 480. Most of these deaths, 372, have occurred in Maputo city.
The country today reported a further 873 new cases, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases since the outbreak to 45,785 .
In the last 24 hours, the country performed 3124 tests.
The city of Maputo recorded the highest number of newly diagnosed cases with 248,, corresponding to 28.4% of the total new cases reported today across the country, followed by Inhambane Province with 183, corresponding to 21%.
A further 376 new recoveries were reported today, bringing to 27,814 the number of people who have been declared as recovered from the virus.
In the last 24 hours, 47 new patients were were hospitalised , while 38 have been discharged. There are currently 312 hospitalised patients in the country (81.4% are in Maputo city).
Mozambique currently has 17,487 active cases of COVID-19.
