Mozambique: NGO earmarks €3 million to support people living with HIV in Gaza province

Mozambique tested in the last 24 hours 806 samples. of which 62 came back positive for COVID-19. Of the newly diagnosed cases, more than half come from the province and city of Maputo, A Verdade reports The country today (July 15) registers a cumulative total of 1,330 confirmed positive cases, 1195 of which are local transmissions and 135 imported .
The new cases were registered in the provinces of Maputo (30), Cabo Delgado (11), Nampula (05), Tete (04), Sofala (02), Inhambane (03), Gaza (03) and Maputo city (04) .
Active cases
The province of Nampula continues to record the highest number of active cases, with 255 infections, followed by Cabo Delgado, with 224, all from northern Mozambique. Maputo City and Maputo province follow, with 145 and 142 active cases, respectively,. The remaining seven provinces in the country register less than 45 active cases.

Of the samples tested in the last 24 hours, one came from Niassa Province, 83 from Cabo Delgado, 66 from Nampula, five from Zambézia, 113 from Tete, 50 from Manica, 131 from Sofala, 76 from Inhambane, 237 from Maputo Province and 42 of the City of Maputo.
Of the new samples tested, 805 were tested in public sector laboratories and 1 in private sector laboratories. The sample tested in a private sector laboratory comes from Maputo City.
The new cases reported today include 60 individuals of Mozambican nationality and two individuals of Indian nationality. 50 of the cases reported today are of local transmission and 12 are imported.
Mozambique continues with a cumulative of 30 individuals hospitalised due to COVID-19. Of these, 7 are under hospital care. They suffer from various chronic pathologies, associated with COVID-19.
In the past 24 hours, the country has registered two more cases fully recovered from COVID-19; one (01) in Cabo Delgado Province and one (01) in Sofala Province. These are individuals of Mozambican nationality, who lived in isolation during their illness.

The country currently has 375 patients fully recovered, nine deaths due to COVID-19 and two (2) deaths from other causes.
Mozambique has cumulatively tested 42,551 suspected cases.
