Just in: Mozambique reports 17 Covid-19 deaths and 800 new cases

Mozambique on Tuesday [January 2] reported a further 17 Covid-19 deaths: those of 16 men and one woman, all Mozambican and aged between 42 and 83 years old.
The Covid-19 death toll in Mozambique now stands at 403.
In the last 24 hours, Mozambique confirmed another 800 positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the cumulative number of cases recorded in the country to 40,260.
The City of Maputo recorded 432 newly diagnosed cases, corresponding to 54% of the total new cases reported today across the country, followed by Manica Province with 82 new cases, corresponding to 10.25%.
In the same period, there were 417 more persons who have recovered from Covid-19, so the country currently has 25,010 recoveries.
Mozambique currently has 14843 active cases of Covid-19.
