The Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 14 more Mozambicans infected with the new coronavirus have died: 10 men and four women, aged between 49 and 84 years old. Of these, nine deaths were declared on the 9th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 25th of January. and five were declared on January 24.
With the deaths announced today, the Covid-19 death toll in Mozambique rises o 319 .
Mozambique today reported a further 363 new cases of the respiratory disease.
Of the 363 newly diagnosed cases, 118 are in Maputo province, corresponding to 32.5% of all the cases reported this Monday, and 99 new cases are in Maputo city (27.3%).
Therefore, the cumulative of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country, since the first patient was revealed, in March 2020,rises to 32,781, of which 32,465 are locally transmitted and 316 imported.
The Ministry of Health also announced that, in the last 24 hours, there were 19 new hospitalisations in the country while five patients have been discharged from hospital. In Mozambique, 225 persons are currently hospitalised due to Covid-19 , 81% of whom in the city of Maputo.
The Ministry of Health today reported that a further 453 persons have fully recovered from COVID-19. Of these, 451 are Mozambicans and two are foreigners. This brings recoveries in the country to 21,011 (64.1%).
The country currently has 11,447 active cases.
