Mozambique: Violence affecting civilians on track to reach record high in 2025, UN warns

The country today reported a further 268 positive cases of COVID-19 , bringing the cumulative number of cases to 8,556, with 8,261 cases of local transmission and 295 imported.
Maputo City recorded the highest number of newly diagnosed cases: 199, corresponding to 74% of the total reported today across the country. It is followed by the provinces of Maputo and Zambézia, with 31 cases (11.5%) each.
The number of recovered people rises to 5,205 with a further 369 patients declared free of the virus.
Mozambique has 3,288 active cases.
