The mayor of Maputo, Enéas Comiche,, has just made a public statement at a press conference this morning in the City Hall revealing that he and his wife were the first two people diagnosed with Covid-19 in Mozambique, and that he and his wife were also the first two patients to have fully recovered, Livenews48 and Miramar report.

Eneas Comiche also took the opportunity to ask his wife’s forgiveness for having infected her.
He stressed that he had not infected anyone other than his wife, and thanked everyone for their support when he was admitted to the ICOR hospital in Maputo. He called on all Mozambicans to redouble their preventative efforts because, he says, the disease does not discriminate along social or economic lines.
