Responding to media reports, fastjet, Mozambique’s value airline brand, reassures its customers that the airline is operating on a business as usual basis. Fastjet Mozambique (Operated by Solenta Aviation Mozambique) operates up to 8 daily flights between Maputo and Beira, Tete and Nampula. Since the brand’s launch in Mozambique less than a year ago more than 100 000 passengers have made use of its services.
“While fastjet is currently in active discussions with its major shareholders regarding a potential equity fundraising, it is business as usual at the airline with on-time departures across our network,” says spokesperson Hein Kaiser.
After reviewing customer feedback, fastjet recently changed its product offering to include a first checked bag and an in-flight snack in most of its flights. “The migration to a value-driven airline was received positively and presently fastjet is working on an enriched customer experience plan to further enhance our product offering.
“Fastjet in Mozambique has gone from strength to strength,” adds Kaiser. The airline launched on 3 November 2018 and has “been showing very positive growth during our first year. In May fastjet doubled its frequencies between Maputo and Beira to double daily and recently added additional weekday flights between Maputo and Tete. We are the airline for everyone, and we appreciate the continued support from our customers, friends and business partners.”
Fastjet’s network on-time performance for 2018 presently averages 90%.
