Mozambique has 10 more citizens infected with Coronavirus.
Among those infected, there is a child under the age of five, from Matola.
The number of recoveries stands at 48, with no deaths.
In the last 24 hours, 232 have been tested in the country,
National Director of Health, Dr Rosa Marlene, said that of the ten newly diagnosed cases, eight are from Maputo province, seven of which are related. The ninth case is in the city of Maputo, The other diagnosed case reported today is in Gaza province, being the first to be diagnosed in that part of the country, although there are cases there of people whose samples for testing were collected in other parts of the country and are currently under home quarantine in that region.
Dr Rosa Marlene also said that, of the individuals reported today, nine had mild to moderate symptoms and one has no symptoms. For this reason, all patients are in isolation at home and the process of mapping their contacts is currently underway.
The Public Health Officer at MISAU called on the Mozambican population to continue and to intensify compliance with the preventive measures issued by the authorities, namely effective social distancing, regular and adequate hand washing, mandatory use of mask in places with croads, and leaving home only in case of extreme need, among others.
