Unidentified individuals kidnapped the businesswoman who owns ‘Casa Nassira’, the largest commercial establishment in the village of Gondola, on Tuesday evening.
The victim was kidnapped as she alighted from her car outside her house.
PRM spokesperson in Manica province, Mario Arnaça, told Balanço Geral this morning that the kidnappers were using a Toyota light vehicle and were armed with a pistol, adding that operations to rescue the victim were already underway.
There are indications that the kidnappers’ vehicle set off at high speed in the direction of Chimoio city, Arnaça said, and police have set up roadblocks on the N6 and N7 and are monitoring all neighbourhoods in Chimoio for any possible movement by the kidnappers.
This is not the first kidnapping in Manica province this year.
