Joint Statement by the United States of America, the British High Commission, the High Commission of Canada , the Embassy of Norway , and the Embassy of Switzerland on the situation in Mozambique:

At this critical moment, we call on all entities to show restraint while respecting the rule of law and human life. We reiterate our support for the Mozambican people in exercising their rights under the UN Declaration of Human Rights to peaceful assembly and association, to freedom of opinion and expression, and the right to information.

We share the expectation that the Constitutional Council will deliver on the final stages of the electoral process transparently and in line with its mandate.
