Nine terrorists were shot dead by joint Rwandan and Mozambican troops in Ntuleni village, Olumbi administrative post, Palma district, in the north of Cabo Delgado province last Sunday.
According to Carta sources, the group was surprised by Mozambican and Rwandan troops after attacking the village. During the attack, sources say, the terrorists killed one person and stole dry cassava before burning down huts.
Carta sources also report that the insurgents last Tuesday attacked the 5º Congresso village in Macomia district, where they killed one person and stole goods, also kidnapping some women before releasing them some time later.
Despite the intensification of combat actions by the Rwandan, Mozambican and SADC forces, terrorists continue to sow mourning and terror in the districts of Palma, Macomia, Quissanga, Muidumbe and Nangade.
The terrorists have made a number of attempts to recover areas that are now under the control of Mozambican, Rwandan and regional troops, but without success.
