Mozambique: Long surgical wait list at Beira Central Hospital

The Government of Japan will donate just over US$152,000 to finance three social projects in Mozambique. An agreement formalising the arrangement will be signed tomorrow [Friday] in Maputo, according to a Japanese embassy communique received by AIM.
The three projects are the reactivation of the Namaacha Agrarian Institute in Maputo province; the construction of Youth and Teenagers Friendly Services Corners [Cantos dos Serviços Amigos do Adolescente e Jovem – SAAJ] in two Beira city health centres in Sofala province; and the refurbishment of the Combatentes-Mafarinha Primary School in Dondo district, also in Sofala.
The Maputo project will consume US$79,400, the SAAJ corners US$ 56,300 and the Dondo school, US$17,500.
