The Chamber of Commerce of Mozambique (CCM) deeply regrets the recent death of Mr. Hayyum Ali Mamade, a businessman with various investments, at the hands of the barbarity of organized crime which sows terror and destabilizes the Mozambican business class.
It is time to say “enough” to the wave of kidnappings and abductions carried out by unscrupulous, bloodthirsty individuals without the slightest feeling of humanity who, in addition to emotionally and financially destabilising families, demonstrate the brutality of their acts, causing death and mourning in the families of their victims. The CCM vehemently condemns this horrible social crime and urges the relevant persons to take the necessary measures to quickly clarify this case and hold the perpetrators accountable.
A country’s economy is not built in a climate of permanent fear and consternation of its main agents.
Mozambique must not continue to live with these forces of evil and tyranny against our business class. We repudiate the action of organized crime that targets economic agents and their families.
While expressing our solidarity with the bereaved family, we reaffirm that we are for the safety of the business class and of doing business in Mozambique, which is why we reiterate our call for diligent work to be carried out to clarify this heinous crime and hold its agents and authors accountable .
