Ten former Mozambican students educated in Cuba have arrived to the Island Nation on Friday (October 8) to take part in ceremonies marking the 45th anniversary of the creation of the Internationalist Schools on Isla de La Juventud.
Alumni from 37 countries are expected to attend the event on the 12th of October.
The date was established within the framework of the 1977 inauguration on the Isla de la Juventud – the second-biggest island in the Cuban archipelago – of the Escola Secundária Básica Samora Machel, the first international school in Cuba.
The ten former students travelling to Cuba bade farewell last Thursday to the Mozambique’s Minister of Education and Human Development, Carmelita Namashulua, who urged then to return with ideas for the eradication of illiteracy.
De vuelta a #IsladelaJuventud, que un día fuera su casa, egresados de Mozambique que participarán en Evento por el Aniversario 45 de la creación de las escuelas internacionalistas.
