Judge Paula da Conceição Machatine Honwana sworn in as RSCSL Justice
Mozambique’s First Lady, Isaura Nyusi, on Wednesday launched in Maputo a national campaign to raise funds in solidarity with the victims of the natural disasters that have hit the country this year – drought in the southern and central provinces, and floods in parts of the north.
The launch of this campaign coincided with the delivery to the Office of the First Lady of 40 tonnes of foodstuffs and hygiene products contributed by 12 companies and other partners of the First Lady’s Office.
These goods will be delivered to the victims of drought and of the February storm in Boane district, Maputo province, next Tuesday.
The First Lady described the gift as a noble gesture of solidarity which will assist the victims and comfort the families who are feeling the effects of natural disasters.
“This is the first phase in the collection of goods as part of the great campaign that will help communities mitigate the effects of all type of disasters in the country. We feel comforted and happy at this gesture”, said Isaura Nyusi.
