Interpol says it has arrested a number of people in east and central Africa as part of an anti-terrorism operation.
The international police organisation said it carried out close to three million checks at border crossings and airports over an eight-day period.
Five people wanted by Interpol were arrested in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including one wanted in Europe for serious organised crime.
Suspects in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda were also targeted.
Interpol said its database of more than 80 million travel documents helped police to detect several people, including terror suspects, who were using stolen passports.
Violent Islamist groups operate across the region, including the East African group al-Shabab and the Allied Democratic Forces, which is mainly based in DR Congo.
