The provincial government of Inhambane and partners are planning to build a gas-fired power station in Temane in Inhassoro district this year.
The plant is aimed at improving the quality of electricity supplied to the districts of the Inhambane and part of Sofala province.
The thermal power station will have the capacity to generate 400 megawatts of energy for the districts of Mabote, Vilankulo, Inhassoro, Govuro, Inhambane and Machanga in Sofala province.
An environmental impact study has already been completed.
