Inhambane: Approximately 60 minors sexually abused this year

About sixty children were sexually abused in Inhambane province in the first six months of this year, according to the head of the Assistance to Family and Juvenile Victims of Violence Department in Inhambane, Graça Arnaldo.

Perpetrators are mostly those close to the victims, like parents, neighbours and friends, and entrap their victims with sweets or television and movies.

Arnaldo said the phenomenon was swelling to alarming proportions and warned parents to be on the lookout for people, even family members, taking too close an interest in their children.
