Mozambique: Matola Municipal Council is mapping land usurped by locals
Two hundred Land Use and Utilisation Rights (DUATs) titles may be cancelled in Inhambane province because of non-compliance with the exploitation plans submitted by applicants.
The Chief of Geography and Land Registration Services in Inhambane, Tiago Mirione, said that the land was state property and not privately owned.
Talking on the occasion of 2018 World Earth Day yesterday, Mirione said that a campaign was underway to notify the owners of large areas who were not executing plans of use that their provisional ownership might be cancelled as a result.
