Adérito Aramuge, Director General of the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM), has announced that his institution is working on a smartphone application that will enable the Mozambican population to access up-to-date information on the weather.
“It is a challenge that requires investment, but the android application, for Mozambicans to get information from the National Institute of Meteorology, is already designed and its launch planned,” Aramuge said on Friday, World Meteorological Day.
Aramuge also mentioned the challenge of qualifying a sufficient number of meteorologists. “We need to think about professional standards in meteorology training, and what changes are necessary for a good meteorology service,” he said.
