INAM issues cold weather alert for southern Mozambique

Mozambique’s National Meteorological Institute (INAM) is forecasting the continuation of cold to very cold weather, accompanied by light rains, in Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane provinces this Tuesday, with maximum temperatures between 16 to 22 degrees Celsius.
Areas at risk include, in Maputo province: Matutuíne, Boane, Moamba, Namaacha, Marracuene, Manhiça and Magude districts and the cities of Maputo and Matola;
In Gaza province, the districts of Chicualacuala, Massangena, Chigubo, Mabalane, Mapai, Massingir, Guijá, Chibuto, Chongoene, Limpopo, Mandlakazi, Belene and Xai-Xai; and
In Inhambane province, mainly the districts of Zavala, Jangamo, Inharrime, Panda and Homoíne.
Due to the discomfort that may be caused by the temperature variation, INAM recommends taking precautionary measures relevant to the intense cold expected.
