Mozambique| Just In: Residents protest against toll fee collections at Maputo-Katembe bridge

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts rain, locally moderate to heavy (30 to 50 millimetres in 24 hours) accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane provinces from the afternoon of tomorrow Tuesday, 1 June 2021, until Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
In Maputo province, the districts at risk are Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude, Manhiça, and the cities of Maputo and Matola.
In Gaza, the districts at risk are Massingir, Limpopo, Chonguene, Massangena, Guijá, Mandlakazi, Bilene, and the cities of Chókwé and Xai-Xai.
In Inhambane the districts covered by the alert are Zavala and Inharrime.
According to the meteorological authorities, this system will progressively affect the northern part of Inhambane and the provinces of Sofala and Manica, with moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms from the end of June 2, 2021.
The forecast related to this weather system will be updated on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m..
In view of the projected occurrence of rain and thunderstorms, INAM recommends taking the appropriate precautionary and safety measures.
