The National Inspection of Economic Activities (INAE0 has closed thirty restaurants and bakeries across the country in the last two weeks, INAE Chief Inspector Rita Freitas revealed at a press conference taking stock of activities in the sector.
Freitas said that the commercial establishments closed were among the about 380 units inspected during the period in question, and condemned bakeries that were producing bread at dawn in order to evade inspectors.
The INAE Inspector-in-Chief said that inspections would soon focus on establishments selling cement to assess their quality and weight, and that the INAE would meet Maputo City Council this week , with a view to deciding the future of vendors selling food from the boots of cars.
