Tropical storm Dikeledi hits Mozambique

A sinkhole has opened up on Joe Slovo Street, formerly Joaquim Lapa, near Praça 25 de Junho in Maputo city, putting the safety of motorists at risk.
Helpful individuals have tried to fill the hole with rubbish to prevent accidents, but this does not solve the problem.
All of this is happening under the indifferent gaze of the municipal authorities, not only because municipal vehicles pass that way every day on the hunt for badly parked vehicles to fine.
On rainy days, the sinkhole is full of rainwater, making visibility difficult and increasing the risk of accidents for road users. Similar situations occur on several other avenues and sidewalks in the capital.
The authorities meanwhile promise to solve the problem, but any such solutions are slow to arrive, potentially leading to damage to vehicles, especially those with low clearance.
