Former president of Mozambique, Joaquim Chissano, one of the leading figures at the MOZEFO conference in Portugal next week, says now is the time for investors to invest in Mozambique, because crises always create opportunities.
Chissano arrived in Portugal on Saturday evening to attend the preparatory meetings for the second world MOZEFO forum. He was met by Mozambique Ambassador to Portugal, Fernanda Lichale, and chairman of the board of directors of SOICO group, Daniel David, and briefly outlined the message he will deliver to business people and conference participants.
“I’ll lay out for the Portuguese businesspeople who attend the conference the advantages of investing in Mozambique. A good entrepreneur may advance him or herself [in Mozambique] at a time like this. This is the moment when entrepreneurs need to help Mozambique through difficult times, so that we can mark them down as investors worthy of taking note of,” the former head of state said.
Former prime minister Luisa Diogo will be joining Joaquim Chissano on the economic diplomacy front, attempting to convince one of Mozambique’s principal investors that the country remains a land of opportunity.
