The District of Ibo in the first quarter (Q1) of 2023 recorded the catching of 1,726 tons of fish, against 3,234 tons forecast for the whole of the present year, a figure which corresponds to 51.5% of the target, and a growth of 11.8% on the same period last year.
The figures were made public at the XII ordinary session of the Provincial Executive Council of Cabo Delgado, which took place in the city of Pemba on Thursday, June 15.
Presenting the balance sheet for the first quarter, the Administrator of Ibo district, Issa Tarmamade, revealed that 33 hectares of coffee were ploughed and sown in the district, representing 67% target achievement, and 4% growth when compared to the 32 hectares in for the same period of the previous agricultural campaign.
To increase production and productivity rates, the Economic Activities sector assisted 1,000 producers by means of rural extension activities.
In Vila Sede of Ibo, the first capital of Cabo Delgado province, construction of the operating theatre was completed, and the construction of the stadium in the future Vila Autárquica had, with the erection of a perimeter wall, entered its final phase.
These are among the achievements of the government of the District of Ibo, which on Thursday attended the XII session of the Provincial Executive Council to report on its performance in the first three months of the current year.
