On November 9, a ceremony in one of the capital’s top hotels led by Mozambique’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Janfar Abdulai, and attended by the Ambassador of China to Mozambique, Wang Hejun, and the CEO of Huawei Mozambique, Terrens Wu , celebrated the graduation of 50 university students from across the country.
Of the total 800 Mozambican students who applied to the Huawei ‘Seeds for the Future” programme, fifty were selected for training aimed at identifying and nurturing emerging talent in the information and communication technologies area.
In addition to the 50 students from Mozambique, students from all the countries where Huawei is present also participated in the programme, which this year, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, was conducted virtually.
The Minister of Transport and Communications urged students not to forget what they had learned, as the knowledge acquired in the training should serve as a great contribution to the development of the country, especially in their areas of origin
The CEO of Huawei for Mozambique professed happiness at seeing all those selected being certified after successful completion of their training. He stressed that the knowledge they obtained was only a small sample of what they could potentially learn, and hoped that this knowledge would help graduates see how different technologies would assist the construction of a digital Mozambique, and also help them identify in what area they wanted to continue studying and later work in.
