The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) is forecasting heavy rain and strong wind accompanied by thunderstorms in the Inhambane, Manica, Sofala, Zambézia and Tete provinces.
Precipitation could vary from 30 to 50 millimeters with winds gusting up to 56 kilometers per hour.
The National Water Resources Management Office has similarly forecast increased flow in the Incomáti, Maputo e Búzi rivers in the coming hours.
Water levels in the Incomáti basin in Ressano Garcia, may continue to rise due to flows originating upstream, but remain below alert levels. The same applies to the Búzi basin in Dombe and Goonda.
