Illegal fishing threatens Mozambique’s biodiversity

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts hot to very hot weather with maximum temperatures ranging from 39 to 43 degrees Celsius on Tuesday (December 3) in Matutuine, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude and Manhiça districts and Maputo and Matola cities in Maputo province; in Chicualacuala, Chigubo, Mabalane, Chibuto, Massingir, Limpopo, Chonguene, Massangena, Mapai, Guija, Mandlakazi and Bilene districts and the cities of Chokwe and Xai-Xai in Gaza province; and in Inharrime, Panda, Funhalouro, Jangamo, Homoine, Mabote and Zavala districts in Inhambane province.
A change of weather is expected by the end of today, December 3, with winds gusting up to 60 km/h, accompanied by rain and thunder and lightning.
Regarding Tropical Storm Ambali, INAM says there is potential for it to move towards Madagascar, but at present the system is not a danger to the Mozambique Channel or national territory. INAM will however continue to monitor the system and recommends that people follow weather reports carefully.
For Niassa, Cabo Delgado and Nampula, INAM forecasts mostly cloudy skies, with thunderstorms and heavy rain to moderate showers. Windss will be from the northeast to east, light to moderate and possibly gusting.
For Tete, Zambezia, Manica and Sofala provinces, the forecast is locally mostly cloudy skies, with the chance of strong rains with thunderstorms or light showers. Wind from northeast to east weak to moderate, sometimes blowing with gusts.
