Head of State recalls former president’s contribution on his 75th birthday – Mozambique

President Filipe Nyusi addressed a message of congratulations to former Mozambican president Armando Guebuza and his family on the occasion of the statesman’s 75th birthday on Saturday.
In the message Nyusi emphasised and reiterated Guebuza’s commitment to the ongoing building of the country even after having left the presidency.
His message reads: “January 20 is certainly a special date that refuses to go unnoticed, because in the distant year of 1943, Mozambique, still in the middle of the colonial night, witnessed the birth of a child who soon realised that foreign domination was not the fate his people deserved.”
