Portugal: BCP profits rise 3.9% to €243.5M in Q1
President José Mário Vaz left Bissau early on Wednesday for Beijing to attend the China-Africa summit scheduled September 3 and 4.“We will attend the China-Africa Summit where we will have the opportunity to review relations between our continent and China, and we will eventually see that China is ready to follow the continent in funding a series of projects,” Vaz told reporters shortly before flying out.
Speaking at Osvaldo Vieira International Airport, Vaz added that the agreements he intends to sign with Beijing will cover agriculture, tourism, fisheries and infrastructure.
He is convinced that the Chinese government will agree to finance and participate in the implementation of projects submitted by Guinea-Bissau.
During his stay in China, Vaz is expected to meet private investors.
