Grade 10 classes resume today (Monday), as part of the gradual resumption of face-to-face classes countrywide.
Ministry of Education and Human Development spokesperson Feliciano Mahalambe said that 300,000 Grade 10 students in more than 800 schools across the country were returning to school.
“This resumption of Grade 10 classes involves some schools which have already resumed Grade 12 classes, and some that are resuming face-to-face classes for the first time since schools were closed. Some schools have not yet reopened because they don’t teach Grade 12,” he explained.
“It is not entirely accurate to say that all schools have conditions in place, since, at the moment, there are still a small number of schools where Grade 12 classes have not yet resumed,” Mahalambe clarified.
The Ministry of Education is calling on parents and guardians to bear in mind the gravity, in terms of Covid-19, of the children’s return to school.
