The government decided at the fifth session of the Council of Ministers on Thursday to wind up the Public Transport Company of Beira (TPB) and pass control to the municipalities of Beira and Dondo.
Spokeswoman Ana Comoana said that the decision included the repeal of articles two and four of Decree 15/2015 in order to create a framework for the transfer of human resource and financial management to the municipalities of Beira and Dondo.
The Council of Ministers also approved a regulation establishing a legal regime applicable to foreigners entering, staying in and leaving the country.
The amendment aims to ease the allocation of visas for investment activity, facilitate the movement of foreign tourists entering Mozambique on border visas and improve the business environment.
The government also assessed the impact of tropical cyclone Dineo on the provinces of Inhambane and Gaza.
