The government is using US$6.5 million of USAID funds to build three intermediate medicine warehouses in the districts of Mopeia, Mocuba and Ile. The warehouses will benefit surrounding districts.
The warehouses under construction in Mopeia and Ilê have the capacity to hold 540 pallets, while the one in Mocuba can house up to 720.
The contractor says that work is progressing satisfactorily in all locations.
Deputy Minister of Health Lídia Cardoso has visited the construction sites.
An intermediate warehouse breaks geographical barriers and serves several health units.
