The government of Mozambique has created the Agency for Integrated Development of the North (ADIN), a public institution with the aim of take advantage of the potential and the natural resources in the northern region of the country, said the spokesman of the Council of Ministers.
Filimão Suaze said that ADIN is a legal and administrative body with financial autonomy, under the supervision of the Council of Ministers, and its headquarters will be in Cabo Delgado province.
The northern region of Mozambique is made up of the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Niassa and Nampula.
The spokesman said that the creation of ADIN is intended to stimulate the development of the northern region of the country, “in an integrated and harmonious way,” making better use of the potential of and existing natural resources in these three provinces.
With the discovery of natural gas, precious stones, graphite and the announcement of the start of prospecting, Cabo Delgado has attracted national and foreign human resources to take part in the implementation of major natural resource extraction projects.
