Mozambique: Justice sector raises concern over cases of incest - Notícias
The Government of Japan, as part of its Programme for Assistance to Community Projects and Human Security (APC), has approved three more projects for the following financial assistance:
1. Reactivation of the Namaacha Agrarian Institute in Maputo Province
For the project to be implemented by ProgettoMondo mlal in the Namaacha district in Maputo province, the value donated is US$79,400.00.
The objective of the project is to reactivate the Namaacha Agrarian School with the implementation of long-term technical training courses in the medium-sized agro-cattle sector. The project includes a canteen and a kitchen, the construction of workshops and the purchase of diverse technical equipment.
The reactivation of the Agrarian School of Namaacha is underway in partnership with the National Directorate of Professional Technical Education of the Ministry of Sciences and Technologies, Higher Education and Professional Technician and the Archdiocese of Maputo and aims at reactivate the agrarian institute in 2019.
2. Cantos SAAJ (Friends of Adolescence and Young People) in two Beira Heath centres
For the project to be implemented by Doctors with Africa-CUAMM, in Beira, Sofala province, the amount donated will be US$56,335.00.
This project aims to increase the access of young people and adolescents to specific health services and counselling through the construction of two new SAAJs in the Inhamizua and Mascarenha health centres, both located in the densely populated peri-urban area. This initiative fits in with the organisation’s overall strategy to support authorities in the fight against HIV/Aids, as well as the National Health Strategy for decentralising services to bring them as close as possible to the community and those most in need, especially girls. The project will directly benefit about 18,000 people.
3. Improvement of the Complete Primary School of Combatants-Mafarinha, Dondo in Sofala Province.
For the project, to be implemented by the Portuguese Association for Africa Support in Dondo District, Sofala Province, the amount donated will be US$17,500.00.
The project will improve conditions in the Completa dos Combatentes-Mafarinha, through the construction of the classrooms, warehouse and a perimeter wall. Better attendance and greater student safety for a total of 1,200 students is expected as a result.
A signing ceremony was held at the Embassy of Japan in Maputo on Friday on the presence of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Toshio Ikeda, Progettomondo.mlal representative Francesco Margara, Medici con l’Africa-CUAMM representative Damiano Pizzol, Associação Portuguesa de Apoio a África representative Helena Ribeiro Telles da Cunha and Mozambican government representatives.
