The Mozambican government is inviting South Korea to invest in Mozambique’s entire gas value chain, and not limit itself to the extraction of resources in Area 4 of the Rovuma Basin in Cabo Delgado.
The invitation was expressed in Maputo this Wednesday by Mozambican Prime Minister Adriano Maleiane to his South Korean counterpart, Han Duck-soo, who is visiting the country.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with Han Duck-soo, Adriano Maleiane advanced South Korea as a nation with the business potential to help support Mozambique’s industrialization.
Prime Minister of South Korea Han Duck-soo said that his meeting with Adriano Maleiane had served to open new windows of cooperation to the benefit of both countries.
“Prime Minister Maleiane and I had the opportunity to review cooperation between the two countries, and we also spoke of the fact that this could be beneficial, also and above all, in the fields of energy, education, health and peace,” Prime Minister Han Duck-soo said.
South Korea has made more than US$300 million in funding and donations available to Mozambique over approximately 30 years of cooperation.
