Mozambique: Malaria kills 270 in five months, over 6M cases

The government has imposed new norms and procedures for donations of medicines, vaccines, biological and health products for human use in Mozambique.
The Ministry of Health has decided to add to the requirements already in place, “quality assurance” for donations of medicines, vaccines, biological and health products for human use, in the form of their coming “from a reliable supplier”, including “certification by the World Health Organization” and possessing a satisfactory technical opinion from the National Pharmacy Directorate.
Through Ministerial Diploma No 128/2022, of December 8, Minister of Health Armindo Tiago decided to revise the necessary remaining shelf-life (upon arrival in Mozambique) of all donated medicines, vaccines, biological and health products for human use, from 50 to 80 per cent [of the total shelf life of products].
