The government has granted Muslims workers, employees, officers and civil servants a day off today, Wednesday, to celebrate Eid Ul-Fitr and the end of the Ramadan month of fasting.
The ‘tolerância de ponto’ comes in response to requests made by Muslim bodies.
A statement from the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security states that the holiday does not apply to workers whose activity is vital to the public interest.
