The Government on Monday delivered aircraft parts thought to belong to Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 which disappeared with 239 people on board in March 2014.
Although tests have not yet been carried out, the two pieces of debris found by fishermen at Lingalinga, district of Morrumbene in the province of Inhambane are believed to be part of the ill-fated MH370 flight, which disappeared on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Beijing, China.
Joao de Abreu, chairman of the Mozambican Civil Aviation Institute (IACM) Administration Board, says that one of the parts is a piece of airplane fuselage, and appears to be from the tail.
Aslam Khan, a researcher into air accidents, acknowledged the support provided by the government of Mozambique and said he hoped that the material would help to clarify the tragedy. Material analysis will now follow.
The Mozambican government already delivered to Malaysia parts of wreckage found in Palume, Vilanculos district, in Inhambane province last year, which were later confirmed as parts of the aircraft that crashed in 2014.
