The 20th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers yesterday reviewed the reports of the presidential visits to the provinces of Inhambane and Zambézia, held from 14 to 17 and 18 to 21 June 2018 respectively.
At the same meeting, the cabinet considered the draft resolution ratifying the African Cultural Renaissance Charter which establishes the principles for the promotion and valuation of cultural heritage in Africa adopted by the heads of state and government of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) on 24 January 2006 in Khartoum, Sudan, for submission to the Assembly of the Republic.
“This is a conformance with an international African cultural promotion mechanism that responds to the political and cultural aspirations of the government of Mozambique, especially at a time when the cultural and creative sector is recognized internationally as a driver of inclusive and sustainable economic growth which contributes to the reduction of social inequalities in Africa,” spokesperson for the Council of Ministers Ana Comoana said.
The government also approved the decree-law which, in accordance with the authorization law number 21/2017 of December 29, approves the new property registration code. This instrument restructures the new property registry code, modernizing and simplifying the organization, process and acts of registration, creating conditions for a phased and gradual transition that is attentive to the diversity and extension of the national territory, and addresses the outdated and complex current book system property register with the support and use of electronic media.
The executive also approved the identification card of members of the National Human Rights Commission, one of the rights of members established by Decree No. 12/2014 of 26 March.
The government also approved the resolution ratifying the donation agreement between the Mozambican government and the International Development Association (IDA), on June 7, 2018 in the amount of USD 150,000,000 (one hundred and fifty million dollars), destined for the financing of the Integrated Rural Roads Development Project (IFRDP).
