Barclays Bank has pledged US$125,000, or 7.5 million meticais, for the development of Gorongosa National Park.
The amount will be released in five yearly tranches of US$25,000, which the park will invest in wildlife resources.

Gorongosa National Park administration sees the supports as a major coup and says that in addition to investing in wildlife resources, contributions from various companies are also directed to social responsibility projects.
Gorongosa is one of the largest conservation areas in Mozambique and an international reference for the richness of its biodiversity. The park covers 4,000 square kilometres and houses many endangered animal species.
