Mozambique: Chicamba dam forced to reduce electricity generation due to pollution
Prices of fuels and other petroleum products will be adjusted starting tomorrow, Wednesday, July 19, and gasoline will be cheaper.
According to a press release sent to Folha de Maputo, gasoline falls from the current 57. 89 meticais per litre to 56.59 meticais, while diesel remains at the current 50.48 meticais per litre.
Domestic gas (LPG), on the other hand, shows a slight price increase from the current 40.57 meticais per kilogram to 50.74. In turn, compressed gas (NGV) also reduces the price from 27.09 meticais per litre/equivalent to 26.77.
Lamp oil remains at the current 39.65 meticais per litre.
The change in the price of fuel and other petroleum products comes from full enforcement of the legislation on the matter, and in particular of article 67 of Decree 45/2012, of 28 December establishing the need for a revision of retail selling prices on a monthly basis whenever there is a change in the base price of more than three percent, or if there is a change in taxes.
The latest adjustment of the price of fuels and other petroleum products took place on 28 June 2017.
At the price readjustment that took place on 22 March 2017 the Government announced that it would start to update prices based on the Decree 45/2012 ending the generalised subsidy that had been implemented until then.
