Prices of fuels and other petroleum products will be adjusted from tomorrow. With the readjustment, gasoline drops from the current 56.06 meticais per litre to 53.57, diesel from 51.89 meticais per litre to 51.79 meticais.
Oil lamp will also go down from 41.61 per litreto 37.88 meticais, while the domestic gas (LPG) goes from the current 61.08 meticais per kilogram to 70.32 / kg. In turn, the compressed gas (NGV) goes from 25.59 to 26.34 meticais.
Acording to O País, the drop in the price of fuels and other petroleum products stems from the Government’s full application of the relevant legislation, which establishes the need to revise the retail prices on a monthly basis whenever there is either a higher than three percent change in the base price or a change in taxes.
The previous adjustment of fuels and other petroleum products prices was on 22 March this year, when the Government announced that it would begin to update the prices on the basis of Decree 45/2012, putting an end to the general subsidy that it had hitherto enforced.
