Frelimo’s Niquice says Renamo should be criminalised – Mozambique

The Deputy Head of the Central Brigade of Frelimo in Maputo, Antonio Niquice, says that Renamo should be declared a criminal organization because of the attacks of its armed men in central and northern regions of the country.

According to Radio Mozambique, Niquice considered it inconceivable that a political force should use weapons to blackmail and threaten the people.

Niquice was speaking at a press conference on the outcome of contacts with Frelimo structures in Maputo in preparation for the 11th Frelimo congress, due to take place in 2017 in the city of Matola, Maputo province.

Radio Mozambique reports Niquice as saying that Frelimo found that people wanted Renamo to declare an unconditional end to military attacks against people and property in the country.
