Mozambique: President Chapo lands in Tanzania on his first state visit
Frelimo wins in 20 municipalities, Renamo in 1- the other 32 keep counting

According to information released on Thursday, on the website of the National Elections Commission (CNE), the Frelimo party has already won in 20 municipalities whose polling stations were all counted, Renamo won in one and the count goes on in 32 other municipalities, O país online reports.
Maputo Province
In Maputo province, Frelimo won in Manhiça, with a total of 14,533 votes, representing 68.49%. Renamo iss second, with 940 votes, equivalent to 23.28%. MDM obtained 1,746 votes, 8.23%.
In the village of Namaacha, Frelimo won with 4,863 votes, 82.37 %. Renamo has 599 votes, 3.74%. MDM and the Association of Natural, Residents and Friends of Namaacha (ANRAN) are last with 221 votes each, 3.74%.
- Matola (still at 64% of the count) and Boane (at 62% of votes counted so far) are still missing.
- Maputo City has counted only 32% of the votes.
Gaza Province
In Gaza province, village of Bilene Beach, Frelimo won with 3,876 votes, 86%. The MDM got 438 votes, 9.72%. A Renamo has 193 votes, 4.28&.
In the city of Chibuto, Frelimo won with 20,922 votes, 90.44%. Renamo is second with 1,145 votes, 4.95% and y the MDM is last with 1,066 votes, 4.61%.
In the 68 voting tables counted in the city of Chókwè, Frelimo won with 22,364 votes, 87.49%., followed by MDM with 1,837 votes, 7.19% and Renamo with 1,360, 5.32%.
In the village of Mandlakazi, Frelimo won with 9,793 votes, 89.17%. Renamo came in second with 787 votes, 7.17%, MDM third with 402 votes, 3.66%.
- Xai Xai and Macia are still missing.
Inhambane Province
- No results yet for Inhambane City, Massinga, Maxixe, Quissico and Vilankulo, according to www.stae.org.mz.
Manica Province
In Manica Province, Frelimo won in all five municipalities.
In the city of Chimoio with 51,955 votes, 52.56%, with Renamo in second place with 43,939 votes, 44.45& and MDM last with 2,949 votes, 2.98%.
In the town of Catandica, Frelimo won with 11,381 votes, 63.61&. Renamo ranked second with 6,104 votes, and 34.11%. MDM has 408 votes, 2.28%.
In Gondola, Frelimo won with 9,612 votes, 59.03%. In the second position follows Renamo with 5.969 votes, equivalent to 36.66%. Finally the MDM with 702 votes, equivalent to 4.31%.
In Sussundenga, Frelimo won with 6,573 votes, 64.73%. Renamo obtained 2.407 votes, equivalent to 23.70%. Finally the MDM got with 1,174 votes, 11.56%.
In the city of Manica, Frelimo won with 11,152 votes, 59.14&. Renamo ranks second with 7,105 votes, equivalent to 37.68% MDM comes last with 599 votes, equivalent to 3.18%.
Sofala Province
In Sofala, Frelimo won in the village of Gorongosa with 8,470 votes, 72.16%. Renamo comes second with 2,411 votes, 20.54%. MDM obtained 857 votes, equivalent to 7.30%.
- Dondo, Nhamatanda, Marromeu and Beira City (at 86% of the count) still have not completed counting.
Tete Province
Frelimo won in Nhamayabwe village with 4.403 votes, equivalent to 69.02%. Renamo is second with 1,817 votes, 28.48%. MDM had 159 votes, 2.49%.
- Tete City, Moatize and Ulongue still counting.
Zambezia Province
In Zambézia, Frelimo has already won in two municipalities. In the town of Milange Frelimo won with 8,716 votes, equivalent to 56.89%. Renamo had 6,204 votes, 40.49%. The MDM is last with 402 votes, equivalent to 2.62%.
In the town of Maganja da Costa, Frelimo won with 5,730 votes, equivalent to 52.75%. Renamo ranks second with 4,526 votes, 41.67%. MDM got 606 votes, 5.58%.
- Quelimane City, Alto Mulocué, Gurué and Mocuba still haven’t finished counting.
Nampula Province
In Nampula, Frelimo has already won in the town of Ribáuè with 4,882 votes, equivalent to 46.87%. Renamo ranks second with 4,418 votes, equivalent to 42.42%. MDM is third with 852 votes, 8.18%. The United Movement for Complete Salvation (AMUSI) party came last with 263 votes, equivalent to 2.53%.
- Malema, Nacala-Porto, Ilha de Moçambique, Angoche and Nampula City have not complete preliminary results yet. according to STAE’s website.
Niassa Province
In the province of Niassa, Frelimo has already won in the town of Metangula with 5,028 votes, equivalent to 64.56 percent. Second is Renamo with 2,643 votes, equivalent to 33.94 percent. Finally, the MDM with 117 votes, equivalent to 1.50 percent.
In the town of Mandimba, Frelimo won with 4,318 votes, equivalent to 57.40 percent. Second is Renamo with 2,938 votes, equivalent to 39.05 percent. MDM in the latter with 267 votes, equivalent to 3.55 percent.
- Lichinga City, Cuamba and Marrupa are still counting.
Cabo Delgado Province
In Cabo Delgado, Frelimo already won in the city of Montepuez with 13,608 votes, 51.78%. Renamo has 11,502 votes, 43.77%. MDM has 1,169, equivalent to 4.45%.
In Chiure village the Renamo won with 9,035 votes, equivalent to 56.01%. Frelimo ranked second with 6,138 votes, 38.05%. MDM comes third with 578 votes, 3.58%. Finally, the National Movement for the Recovery of the Mozambican Unit (MONARUMO) got 379 votes, equivalent to 2.35%.
In the village of Mueda Frelimo won with 13,266 votes, 91.58%. MDM is second with 837 votes, equivalent to 5.78%. Renamo obtained 382 votes, 2.64%.
- Pemba City and Mocímboa da Praia still counting
The data is from the municipalities where the counting is at 100%.
